IBAM Seeks To Mitigate And Eradicate Acute Poverty, Illiteracy, Hunger, Disease And Malnuteration Existing Among The Tribal Populace Of Chhattisgarh And To Improve Their Economy, Living Conditions, Health And Environment Through Spread Of Education..

With Exception Of Indian States Of The North-East, Chhattisgarh Has One Of Highest Shares Of Scheduled Tribe (St) Population Within A State, Accounting For About 10 Per Cent Of The Sts In India. Scheduled Castes And Sts Together Constitute More Than 50 Per Cent Of The State’s Population. The Tribes Of Chhattisgarh Mainly Inhabit The Dense Forests Of Bastar And Other Districts Of South Chhattisgarh.

Bastar, In Chhattisgarh, Is Known The World Over For Its Unique And Distinctive Tribal Heritage. These Tribals Derive Their Ancestory From The Ancient Kings Of Various Parts Of The State And Have Their Own Unique Culture And Beliefs Based On Traditions. 

One Third Of The Population Of Chhattisgahr Is Of Tribal People, Mostly In The Thickly Forested Areas In The North And South.  However, Like Most Tribal People In India, The Tribal Populace Of Chhattisgarh Is Mired With Illiteracy, Poverty, Under-Nourishment, Orthodox Beliefs And Faith.  They Mostly Live Under Sub-Human Conditions And Have Been Throughout Exploited And Abused, In All Measure Including Socially, Economically And Physically.

Ibam Is Guided By Its Mission Of The Empowerment And Upliftment Of The Lot Of The Tribal Populace Of The Rural Areas Of The State Of Chhattisgarh Mired With Illiteracy, Poverty, Under-Nourishment, Orthodox Beliefs And Faith And Mostly Living In Sub-Human Conditions. 

Ibam, Bilaspur Has Espoused The Cause Of Progress Through Education. It Took Over Itself The Mission To Eradicate The Illiteracy Amongst The Tribal Populace Of The State Of Chhattisgarh Thereby Improving Their Socio-Economic Conditions And Thus Save Them From Exploitation.

12% Of India's Forests Are In Chhattisgarh, And 44% Of State's Land Is Under Forests. Identified As One Of The Richest Bio-Diversity Habitats, Green State Of Chhattisgarh Has Densest Forests Rich Wildlife And, Above All, Over 200 Non-Timber Forest Products, With Tremendous Potential For Value Addition.
